Today, I weighed myself and boom: 113.4 Kg!
I’m 20 Kg heavier than I was less than eight months ago.
This is not really about my weight or personal health. In the past couple of months, I was just doing random stuff here and there, ticking todos in my beloved Todoist app, but it wasn’t real progress in any specific domain.
Today’s weigh-in triggered something in me.
I need to start doing something about my weight. Keep developing WeightLoop to help myself lose weight. That app is sitting somewhere in the graveyard of my repositories.
Naa, it’s bigger than my weight.
It’s about baseline.
Yeah, baseline.
When I found out where I am in my weight-loss journey, my mind immediately figured out that it had to do something about it. Then I realized that my uncertainty about what to do, and my constant consumption of content on the internet, might be because of the exact same thing.
I don’t know where I am in any specific thing that I want to do.
So I wrote down every project I’m currently thinking about and figured out where I am with each of them. I’m using Basecamp to keep track of them, and now I know what I’m actually going to work on next week.
Maybe that’s the thing I was missing.
A baseline.
From now on, I’m not going into the next week without knowing exactly what I’m going to do.
